A murder investigation at a cloistered boy's school is the subject of this British made-for-television adaptation of John Le Carre's novel. Le Carre's famous detective-hero George Smiley (Denholm Elliott) returns from retirement to look for answers in a mysterious murder at a boarding school, where secret societies, rituals and abuse are the norm. ~ Bernadette McCallion, Rovi
A great cast and an intriguing mystery..I see so many vintage British films that I feel I know the actors
personally..this one has Denholm Elliot in the lead as George Smiley(ususally played by Sir Alec) and he
does a convincing job along with Jos Ackland of many past adventures..these people never fail to
convince and no one will be disappointed with this film. 31/2 stars
Didn't know Le Carre did mysteries. This is a great movie - one I'd like to purchase and have in my collection to watch again and again - and there aren't many movies worthy of one viewing, let alone repeats. I especially loved the protagonists, the two former spies who investigated the murder. I want to see more of this duo...are there other episodes featuring them?
