Read MoreCuba Gooding, Jr. is superb! He brings so much life and warmth to this movie, I cannot imagine that any other actor would have been better cast. He is fully the equal of Tom Cruise. Both actors are marvelously expressive, and the cameras love them. Bonnie Hunt is perfectly low key and therefore magnificently funny. All of the characters are interesting for the way they either do or don't evolve. This is a vibrant, fun movie and full of great lines. I love it when Renée's character says of Tom's, "I love him for the man he almost is!" And, somehow, it doesn't sound like an insult! That's great writing, but more importantly, it's great delivery.
