This movie is o.k. Be prepared it is long and slow! I watched it, hoping it would pick up, it doesn't, but the story is alright and as always Emily Watson is wonderful....that's why I rented it. If you like foreign movies, then you will probably like this , otherwise, skip it.

I have to say I enjoyed the movie, although I was certain of the results fairly early on. The pacing of the movie is slow and makes no effort to rush, allowing for the quiet coutryside scenery to truly impact you with the character's simplicity in their lives. Exploring many issues including faithfulness, sexuality, and insanity it is well shot. I still feel that it could have been shorter, and that sensitive watchers should know that there is a significant amount of sexual situations. Overall, I recommend this movie with a helping of patience. If you allow it, the reward is a full movie that is more like a wine, requiring time and effort to appreciate fully.
