Top-notch action sequences and exciting stunt work highlight this fast-moving thriller. John Kruger (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a top agent in the U.S. Marshalls' Witness Protection Program; it's his job to "erase" the pasts of Federal witnesses under his watch and deal with anyone who tries to hurt them. Kruger's latest assignment is to protect Lee Cullen (Vanessa Williams), who while working for a major weapons manufacturing firm discovered evidence that the company was selling new, high-tech weapons to intentional terrorists groups with the cooperation of a faction of enemy agents within the United States government. However, when Kruger discovers that the Witness Protection Program has a rat in the house -- and that rat is his boss, U.S. Marshall Robert Deguerin (James Caan) -- Kruger has to guard his own life while trying to protect Lee's. A better director would have made this movie much more suspenseful and with more substance. Some scenes were suspenseful, but not all, making parts of it boring. Not one of Arnold's best, but still entertaining. And the alligator fight, oh paleeeeez.

Again, I rented this movie for pure entertainment, not for realism. It is astounding how many people rent movies that are made to be pure non-fiction and then critique them because they are not realistic enough! This movie is just Good entertainment for people that like action and good special effects without having to analyze it.

I am not much of an Arnold fan, but thought he did a good job in this movie. Not his typical Terminator kind of role, but still a lot of action. Like this one better than any other Arnold movie I have seen.

Hahahaha! That was funny...the FIRST time I heard it. After a million times over twenty years, it gets kind of OLD. I thought they killed that joke in Robert Altman's "The Player," but Arnold must've missed that. This was Schwarzenegger's worst movie when it came out, but it was the start of a long descent all the way down to "End of Days." The special fx are HORRIBLE, like the alligator/crocodile scene. Shameful from a guy who's James Cameron's most popular star. Some action scenes were well-done, but the dialogue and story are SO bad, I know it's just a Schwarzenegger action movie, but c'mon, even "Junior" was passable.
