Gere's performance is good but Norton really shines in this one. I can't say too much without giving the plot away. The supporting cast is a virtual whos who with the likes of John Mahoney, Frances McDormand,. However, its Edward Norton who steals the show with his brilliant performance of Aaron Stempler, Or is it Roy?... A young boy accused of stabbing to death the Arch Bishop of Boston 37 times. It was Norton who truly reaped the benefit with a string of movie hits Score,The Red DragonRounders,and The Italian job.The aforementioned movies landed him the role in of the PI in Motherless Brooklyn do to released in Novernber of 2006. I guess the producers/directors, etc. never heard of "discovery?" Basically everyone - judge, prosecution and defense - knows the evidence in any case. But not here.
