Read More While watching this film I was disgusted, disturbed, and horrified while all the while LOVING THIS FILM. Seeing it in the value bin at most video stores, I expected poor production, horrible direction, and a pathetic cast. It is a carefully written and delivered retelling of one of our most beloved fairy tales with a extremely dark twist. Reece Witherspoon (pre-Legally Blonde) gives a performance that surprised me. Her counterpart, the illustrious Wolf, played by 80s child Keifer Sutherland, is yet another powerful force in this film. The two of them nearly carry this film on their shoulders. This is one of those perfect examples of a film that did not have much publicity after its release, but has since then obtained cult status through avid viewers word of mouth. I would also like to add that director Matthew Bright is a film genius. I applaud Bright for taking this story and transforming it into a modern day fairy tale. It is gripping, fascinating, and downright beautiful. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Let me tell you, this is not the Reese Witherspoon we all know!! She curses like a drunken sailor, dresses really slutty, and kicks alot of ass in this movie. Trust me, you will never look at Reese the same way after watching Freeway. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I did not like this movie that much, Reese Witherspoon's character seemed so fake and just annoyed me. They did a great job with Keifer Sutherlands make up, thought that was amazing. And he did a great job with his role. I just expected a lot more from this movie. The way it was going I thought it was going to be like watching The Hitchhiker except the Hitchhiker was the victim not the original killer. Then of course it turned around at the end and Reese's character snapped and then the movie started to go down hill fast from there. I don't recommend this movie. Surely something she would rather forget she every made. It has an interesting cast, and some members turn in a great performance, especially Brittany Murphy as the pyscho lesbian in jail. Keifer Sutherland plays his creepy serial killer with finesse, and Brooke Shields proves yet again that she can't act. Young Reese does a good job with what she was given, but the script was not great, the f-word was overused, some dialogue was just painful to listen to because it was so badly written. This is absolutely a "B" movie. If you are in the mood for drive-in fare with good actors, this is the movie for you. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I have seen a better job in high school plays. Flat, unconvincing and unmeaningful. I have no problem with foul lanuguage but use it effectively and not just because the R rating allows you to. I had to turn it off 20 minutes in. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
