Three brothers who are inept criminals butcher one last attempt to pull off a big heist in this caper comedy. Bill Firpo (Nicolas Cage) is sick of thievery and has retired from crime to run an upscale restaurant in New York. But when his two brothers, Alvin (Dana Carvey) and Dave (Jon Lovitz), get out of prison, Bill is sucked back into their world of crime. The three end up on the run and hide out in the small town of Paradise, PA. The friendly townspeople include a bank president (Clifford Moffat) whose trust in people has left his bank an easy target. The brothers can't resist lifting $275,000 from the vault. Unfortunately, Alvin drives their getaway car in circles and they end up back in town and get in an accident. ~ Michael Betzold, Rovi

I'm a sucker for holiday movies so I enjoyed it. The exception was Dana Carvey who I just find annoying instead of funny. Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination but certainly enjoyable enough for the once a year i see it.

This was a very funny movie. I liked that it had more than just one or two funny scenes. So many comedies today just don't have that humor all the way through. Rent it, you'll like it!

Amusing comedy for a rainy day. Overacted by Cage. If you liked Fargo, you will like this. Nothing I would go out of my way to see again. Husband thought was "just ok" too.

After 15 minutes I already hated it and new it would not get better. Dana Carvey is annoying. Don't bother watching this junk!

Dreadful. Worse than TV material.

This is a first class production on par with "Home Alone' in quality. It is a delicious comedy with a wonderful cast, many charming, winter location scenes and holiday decorations. The story is really fun for a Christmas mood. It has three goofy brothers as bumbling bank robbers (Cage, Lovitz, and Carvey). The sublimely naive townspeople lavish them with kindness. There is the mean sheriff with the idiot son as deputy, feebly trying to bust the robbers. I saw this in 2007 so this will undoubtedly continue to hold up for years. I know I will watch it again. It gets you into the Christmas spirit and it really is funny throughout.
