This movie was actually ok. It contained a lot of stuff I like. It had witchcraft, Linda Blair ( with really, really bad 70's frizz hair), and is a Wes Craven film. I read this book when I was in junior high and I absolutely loved it so when I recently came across the movie I knew I had to see it. It had been 20 years since I read the book and no the movie didn't have the same impact on me but I enjoyed watching it.

For being a made-for-TV movie from the 70's, this one's not bad. Linda Blair is sympathetic and likeable in her role, and the special effects and makeup are good for a laugh (as well as Linda's awful 'fro-it needs to be seen to be appreciated). Look for a young Fran Drescher as Linda's best friend. Good, campy fun =)
