Johnny Depp plays Wood much like he played Willy Wonka. Somewhat entertaining, somewhat worth a watch. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I'm a Tim Burton AND a Johnny Depp fan - so I came into this film already expecting to enjoy it - and I did. Top notch acting performances - but mostly to Martin Landau who's brillant performance in this film is some of the finest acting anyone can ever see. It was beautifully directed, and the music and score throughout the movie was perfection. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More An amazing film that captures Ed Wood's dreadful style, while still making you care deeply about these misfit characters. As the reviewers say, the beating heart of this movie is the touching friendship between Wood and Bela Lugosi.
In my favorite scene, Wood and friends are being baptized (yes, baptized!) in order to get a church to finance a movie. Bill Murray, playing a wannabe transexual, asks Ed Wood (Depp), "How do you do it? How do you get all your friends to be baptized, just for a movie?" This movie shows how a man who approaches his life, his friends, and his art with open-hearted joy can 'do it' - even when his 'art' is appallingly bad. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? The whole cast is great, Johnny Depp is Fascinating. When I watch Depp movies I am amazed at how Johnny Depp seems to "become" the character...you never see Depp slip out of character. It is a joy to study his characterizations. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Burton has made a film that is touching, entertaining and true in spirit to it's inspiration. By all acounts, Ed Wood was a man who loved films, who despite his lack of traditional talent, he managed (against all odds) to forge a career in Hollywood. This film captures both Wood's passion and his bizarre lifestyle -- making a motion picture that is strangly uplifting. 1950s sci-fi movie fans will particularly love this film, but you don't have to be familar with the real Ed Wood Jr. to have a great time. A funny, wonderful film. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I looked forward to finally seeing this movie but was very dissapointed after viewing it. Martin Landau was brilliant in his role as Bela Lagosi, but the rest of the film wasn't worth the time invested. If you love Johnny Depp, you will probably be able to endure it. Otherwise, there are better movies out there. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
