Cops and Robbersons (1994) Reviews

This is a very comical movie which could have been a Chevy Chase classic. The plot and story are good. Chevy performs in a role similar to Clark in the "Vacation" series--the bumbling but lovable dad. My family liked the movie overall and we laughed quite a bit. The movie's downfall--too much bad language by Jack Palance, making it not appropriate for kids (in our household, at least). Also, the relationship between the young cop and the Chevy's daughter was hokie and over-played. It would have been better if it has been less obvious and more mysterious. The mom is pretty awesome--she's dingy but there's actually an incredible brain behind the "hostess with the mostest." If you are a Chevy Chase fan, go ahead and rent this. It is worth it to see Chevy miss the window and swing on a rope into the wall!
