I really loved this movie. Very sweet story of family love, dignity despite circumstances, and strength of character. Beautifully cast. I highly recommend it!

Leonardo DiCaprio should have received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor his role as Arnie is perhaps the best acting he's ever done and he almost steals the spotlight from the other actors. Johnny Depp does a great job as usual however and the cast is well rounded. Hallstrom does well as a director and this film makes me interested in seeing more from him. If you like coming of age drama done right this is your best bet.

I have watched this movie many many times and I never get tired of it. Two great actors in an awesome movie. The emotional strains put on this family is so powerful. From the autistic brother to the grossly over weight mother,. As if growing up in a nowhere town is hard enough. Be prepared to cry, to laugh, to be moved. If you have never seen it, you owe it to yourself to at least once.

This movie is a must see and a classic. Its about a family ( the Grape family) and town that love each other for who they are, not for what they do or what they look like. It is very heart warming story, funny and sad. DiCaprio is fantastic playing the mentally challenged Arnie as is Juliett Lewis and Johnny Depp. Glover wasn't quite as "crazy" in this movie as he can be, but you won't be sorry if you rent this movie.
