This movie is in my collection. I can always pop it in and get a chuckle. Don't take it too serious or expect to much --it's just for laughs! This flick is full of great one-liners and cameo appearances from names you'll know. Besides, anything Tim Burton is involved in is always beyond the mainstream. "Wanna buy a monkey?"

Well, one thing for sure, this movie will never be mistaken for any type of classic. It's actually quite bad...intentionally so. Nothing can look or be so low budget unless they tried extremely hard to make it that way. Which is why Cabin boy is so bad it's almost good. The laughs come from the extreme desperation and lame attempts at humor. You don't laugh at the jokes, you laugh at how bad it all truly is. The best part of the film is the cameo by David Letterman. I can and have watched that scene numerous times. It always has me in stitches. It's amazing how many cameos are in the film...Chris Elliott called in all of his favors, or he has alot of talented friends. Can't recommend the film, but it's a a decent watch for Letterman, Elliot, or Richter fans.

I thought this one was hilarious-tons of guest stars just show up-andy richter is priceless in this one-a real tongue in cheek look-reminds me of monty python type movies. Watch this one with a bunch of friends.

Low budget, low brow, low entertainment value. In all fairness, a preadolescent kid might think this movie is OK; however, anyone over the age of 15 is probably going to hate it. The highlight of the movie was a short, but very funny, appearance by David Letterman, strategically placed near the beginning of the film, where people might see it before wandering away to tend to more interesting things like paying bills. Aside from that, there were only occasional chuckles, lots of bad sets, bad acting, make-it-up-as-you-go scripting, and so forth. Time of death was 10:48PM, the time we diagnosed the movie as brain-dead and pulled the plug.

I love offbeat and strange films, but this piece of rubbish is unforgiveble. It should be right up my alley, it's dumb and it stinks of swiss. It is painfully unfunny and slow. How did Chris Elliott ever make it into showbizz? I gave it a half star for the ship's crew. AAAARRRRRR! -Stone
