I loved this movie! It was one of the best I've ever seen. The Characters were played to perfection. I saw it years ago and have tried to find it everywhere on line. So far no luck. I want to own this movie!!!!! They took a so-so classic and made it a FABULOUS REMAKE! Please try to get this movie back out there for us to watch again!!!!! :)

Is this the 1949 version or the later, made-for-TV travesty? Some of the listed details indicate the classic, earlier version, but the story summary indicates the later version. Which one is it. The "no stars" review is for Blockbuster, not for the movie. The 1949 version is extremely effective melodrama -- a classic. The TV version is (to be kind) less riveting.
