Set in contemporary Los Angeles as well as the Los Angeles of the 1940s, Dead Again explores a romance between two star-crossed lovers -- and the doomed passion they shared in their last lifetime. Los Angeles detective Mike Church (Kenneth Branagh) comes to the aid of mute, amnesia-victim Grace (Emma Thompson) and falls in love with her. He sets out to discover her true identity and the source of her terrible nightmares. Mike is aided in his investigation by hypnotist/furniture dealer Franklyn Madison (Derek Jacobi) who discovers that in a past life Grace was Margaret Strauss (also played by Thompson), who may have been mudered by her husband Roman (Branagh). ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi

While it wasn't spectacular, some of the plot was predictable, there was a very nice twist at the end which neither my husband or I were anticipating. It's a good movie to rent.

Not hyped a lot as I remember. Saw it in the theatre and it was awesome. Own the DVD, have watched it several times. Just a great movie all the way around. Great story, acting, drama, suspense, etc. MUST SEE!

I was excited to see Branagh and Thompson in something that wasn't Shakespearian. I am always interested in their taste of scripts collectively and seperately. Branagh always challenges himself with something out of the ordinary. This was refreshing. It was also and unexpected delight to see Jacobi ( primarily a Shakesperian director) act on film.

I saw this one when it first came out. Enjoyed it then and again just now. Keeps you guessing almost to the end. You figure it out and aha!!!! I thought so. Enjoy it.

I kept hanging in there but this was a real disapointer. Boring, lifeless and just all around crappy. I'm into deep thoughtfull films at times, so I'm not coming from a "manly" perspective on this. I dont know what movie some of the other reviewers were watching, especially the one that said this was "great" but to each his/her own. Just really bad.

I didn't like this movie - it has an excellent cast but it was strange the way it jumped between the present and the past....very confusing. I ended up not watching the whole movie because it was not entertaining at all, to me.

Like many movies, the first half was interesting and compellng while the second half devolved into asininity. It was worth a look, however, due to the acting ability of Branagh and Thompson and the eternally unknowable possibility of re-incarnation and karma that was woven into the story.

This was an ourtstanding movie that grabbed u from the first moment. Superb acting and the ending was a total surprise! Having Robin Williams play a part that he fit to a tee was a fun addition as he is one of my favorites! The filming was terrific adding greatly to the suspense! Very, very well directed! I have had a past life regression and suggest it for all. I believe in reincarnation and have seen many manifestations in this life to reinforce this belief!

A pretty good variation of the whodunit. There were lots of clues that you don't necessarily recognize at the time. But there were a few plot hole, too.
