I actually think this movie was the best of all three Turtles movies because it was a lot more violent than the following two, which were much more kid oriented and goofy slapstick fighting. The first one was darker... a lot darker. More serious, more human (or turtle) psychee viewing. A good kiddie action movie that some adults may like too. This is one of my childhood favorites and is still kicks butt today. Revive the turtles today! -Stone WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Now I HAVE kids, and I still love this film. Revisiting Leo, Don, Mike, and Raph with my own son was a wonderful experience. The story held up extremely well; complex enough to be interesting, but not too convoluted. It's probably the best Turtles origin story, blending elements from the classic cartoon with elements from the original comics. The acting was great considering, and the Turtles' look was top-notch for the time. (Of the 3 Turtle films, the characters looked the best in this one.) The dialogue and wit is still quite funny. From the opening skirmish saving April to the final battle with Shredder on the rooftop, the story is exciting and enjoyable... and even includes a morality play on troubled youth getting into gangs and the true meaning of family. Whether you're a new Turtle fan or you're a big kid with kids, this film is a classic and more than worth your time. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I am old enough to be out of college and I am constantly drawn to watch this movie. I don't understand why somebody would not like the turtle costumes, given the time period this can't be beaten. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

The action is very slow and the story grinds to a halt for an extended 'rest period' out in the country that turns out to be dominated less by soul-searching and more by bad puns and boring voice-overs.
