Date with an Angel (1987)
Member Rating:
In this romantic comedy fantasy, an angel (Emmanuelle Beart) with a heavenly body falls into the swimming pool of Jim Sanders (Michael E. Knight). Hung over from his bachelor party, his encounter with the angel has Jim questioning his upcoming marriage to Patty (Phoebe Cates), the daughter of a wealthy cosmetics mogul (David Dukes). After he helps the injured celestial being, Jim must protect her from his lecherous friends and his curious fiance. Beart's beauty and performance is the highlight of the film even though she does not speak. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

This is one of my old time favorites.. I first saw it when I was a tweenager, and the actress who played the angel was truly lovely in this movie. Of course, that changed and she isn't nearly as beautiful in her other movies, but it is still nice and peaceful. Quite a bit contrived, but easily as good as a Molly Ringwald movie. Phoebie Cates was funny too.

A nice romance. I'm 42, and it's very 1980s and a bit slow by today's standards. It's very much a family film w/o language, violence, etc. I saw it 10 years ago and laughed hysterically in sev'l parts. This time I still found it amusing, but not like I did when younger. But see it!

A very sweet family movie - somewhat predictable but nevertheless very enjoyable! The gal who played the angel stole the show - beautiful... and she never said a word!!!! All ages will enjoy this one...

This movie would have gotten a lower rating with profanity, but it was just dumb.
