I have never before nor since seeing this movie heard a Mountain Lion called a Painter and I still cannot figure out why they did not show the Cougar but I would say it was because of the lack of animatronics in 1954. None the less I will say that this was a fairly good western but I admit I would not have bothered to see it if it were not for the fact that one of my many favorite actors Robert Mitchum was in it. He made it worth the while.

not one of your better Mitchum movies. Mitchum does a fine job but the movie is slow and someof the movie sets are ridiculously phony looking. This subtracts from keeping your attention while your mind wanders on other topics such as .."did I get those bills out?" or "I better get that laundry done". PS Injun Joe Sam is Carl Switzer, Alfalfa of Little Rascals fame.
