This is one of my all-time favorite movies. Danny Kaye is excellent in lots of different roles, and both stories and songs are charming! WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

I'd never seen it (before my time) but heard about it and put it in my queue. Danny Kaye is extraordinary, the writing is as fun and clever as it gets and the vibrant period costumes (the early days of Technicolor) make it fun to watch. It's well-directed and the story moves along briskly. Charming and wholesome. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Therefore, it instantly became one of my favorites (unless you do not like musicals filmed in the 50's). Would be great on stage or for a Medieval Times performance. I think great casting, a great script, equally great acting, and not too long. You too will be quoting "the pellet with the poison" if you can stop laughing. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Some brief moments of hilarity. No drama, gore, sex, violence, goofy premise, lots of situational comedy. In the 50s' Danny Kaye was the equivalent of Vince Vaughn but could also dance and act. Want to put on a musical? Watch this movie for some ideas. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
