Nice, fresh concept for a movie - - and it works ! It's an honor watching so many actors, who were once great in their prime, playing elderly roles - but with lots of CLASS and TALENT ! I really enjoyed the overall storyline of this movie - as it makes you think twice in the end - - "Would I really want to be young again ? Is it TRULY worth it ?"

Aliens are a good subject to begin with during a science-fiction movie. Movies, such as Alien itself, deal with bad aliens. There are a lot of those. But other movies, such as E.T, deal with good aliens. This is one of those. Cocoon is a light-hearted story, a touch saddening, just because it revolves around old people who are waiting out death. The plot is surprisingly original, with a bit of humor to get by. The cast, led by Ameche, keeps the movie afloat. Sweet, mystical fable that I would recommend to those who savor science-fiction and the fate of those in our retirement homes. Rent it.

Retirees regain their youth in a swimming pool with alien cocoons. There are numerous well known actors, who are so realistic it's almost believable. The pace is steady & easygoing.

Movie was interesting, charming story of the older people looking for the fountain of youth. Ending wasn't as good as I hoped for, but the movie was enjoyable.

The cast is great for this movie. However the book is ever so much better & very little like the movie. Read the book, don't watch the movie.

I don't know why but I love this movie what a great standard for the dark dreary days or when you are sick.

This film is not as good as I thought it was when I saw it for the first time in 1985 in the movie theater. The acting is OK, but I think the story and plot hasn't aged that well. This still is a pretty good early Ron Howard film.
