It's Basically a mix of "The Lords of Flatbush" with Sly Stallone and "The Warriors" , With a little Porkys 1 thrown in there to spice it up a bit. Its a great overall nostalgia filled 60s Fest. Read More I would characterize this movie as a good representation of the fun and mischief of high school clicks during the mid 1960s America. Set in Southern California during 1965, this hilarious film brings together some the raunchiness from Animal House and the heartfelt fun and tears from American Graffiti. Good storyline and fairly good acting. This film may not have ever been nominated for any award, but then again, who cares? It is a FUN and reminiscent adventure, well worth watching on a Saturday night. Im glad Hollywood Knights has been released in DVD. My VHS version got wore out years ago! As to the version on the DVD provided to me by Blockbuster Online.....the end of the movie......is not the same as I remembered when I viewed on TV several years ago......the ending may have been edited out or may be more than one version of some parts......but at the end of the Movie.....the police car had the rear end yanked out due to be chained to some stationary object (escapes my memory just what that object was)......
But still a GREAT movie for viewing......lots of laughs...... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

First of all it models itself, not so discretely, after American Graffiti. The similarities are unavoidable. But what worked for A.G. falls flat and seems recycled in this one. The other aspect of this movie, the zany Teen Genre aspect, falls flat too. To be fair, it was probably funnier and more relevant in 1980 when it was made. But as it is, the jokes are to silly, childish and yes, zany; a word that rarely if ever means good humor... If a "zany" teen film is what you're after, I would recommend a variety of films instead of this one: Animal House and Fast Times At Ridgemont High come to mind right away. It isn't all horrible. There are some memorable lines. But you have to endure some fairly painful, zany, scenes to get to these memorable kernels. I just can't recommend it. -Sorry Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The mischief of the club was great! The pranks, hazing of the new members, etc all made for great comedy. Newbomb Turk is my hero! The stuff they do with Dudley is hilarious! This movie has a lot of the pranks you hear about kids doing (heard about some similar ones from my folks).
I know a lot of people would call it blasphemous, but I liked this movie quite a bit better than American Graffiti. Sorry Lucas...this movie is just more fun! I THINK this was Michelle Pfeiffer's first movie. It's great to see a lot of the bigger names of Hollywood "Way back When."
Rent it....you definitely won't be sorry! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
