Saltwater (2012)
Member Rating:
Charlie Vaughn takes the reins to helm this low-budget LGBT drama. The story opens when Will - a homosexual officer in the U.S. Navy - leaves the armed forces, reconnectswith old friends, and begins to look for a new boyfriend. His buddy Rich attempts to fix him up with the sexy and handsome Josh; while chemistry sizzles between the two, their timetables can never quite align - at first. Then an unforeseen tragedy erupts that brings the two men together and forces them to respond in accord to the challenging situation before them. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

I wish that members who review movies would just give their own comments on the movies and NOT criticize or belittle others' reviews! Saltwater is a lousy movie with even lousier acting. Period.

As to why I picked this up from the shelves will remain a mystery coz I don't even know why. This review will be over long before I finish the movie. The story and the acting - not good. It will be too late for them to go to acting class as they are all in their mid 40's. The two stars are for the beefy bods.

Please do not waste a rental on this movie. Completely awful from the trailers to the movie. We could not even make it beyond 10 minutes into the movie. The acting is like watching a junior high play and the camera shots make it look like it was taken with the home video camera. The actors and setting are completely lame. Just to be clear too the actors are NOT good looking either. The cutest thing in the first 10 mins of the movie is a dog. Absolutely do not rent. If I could give this a negative star I would.

Ignore all the bad reviews. This is a wonderful movie about realistic relationships. The theme here is timing, the movie takes a while for the two leads to act on their feelings, one is ready what the other is aloof, then vice versa. It is very realistic. The guys are hot - whoever said they weren't obviously has bad taste in men. It is true some of the acting is a bit rough, but what do you explain Oscar Nominees??? Not gonna happen with this type of flick...you get what you pay for. I thought the movie was wonderful and I will see it again for sure.
