Complete with lethal lovelies, exotic locations, an evil mastermind and a castle fortress, Deadlier Than The Male is still a rather dull affair. Johnson is fine as Drummond, but the rest of the cast is not quite up to the already light demands of the genre. Drummond himself notices how ludicrous the whole thing seems, but the film doesn't work as satire either. The movie introduces an uncomfortable selfawareness in the final act that seems a compensation for running out of creative steam. Too bad. A waste of Elke Sommer in classic 1960s swimwear.
