An NYPD hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) attempts to talk cop-turned-fugitive Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) down from a high ledge, but she learns that he may have a hidden motive for threatening to take his own life. A priceless diamond has been stolen, and the thieves responsible are using Nick as their scapegoat. An escaped convict with nowhere to run, Nick realizes that no one will believe he is innocent, and he decides to take extreme measures in order to expose the men who set him up. Stepping out on a ledge 25 stories above the bustling concrete streets of New York City, the notorious fugitive quickly becomes a media sensation as the entire world watches, awaiting his next move. Meanwhile, Nick's loyal brother races to help clear his sibling's name and ensure that the guilty pay for their crimes before the situation ends in tragedy. Jamie Bell, Anthony Mackie, and Ed Harris co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I was disappointed, given the good reviews. I just couldn't get past the extreme stupidity and non-believability of many of the parts. First, a cop gets convicted of a crime based on innuendo? Then he becomes a top-of-the-line jewel thief, while in prison. I could go on, but the whole thing is really too stupid for words.
Over all I thought this was a good movie. It had a lot of action and suspense. I think Sam Worthington was a bit off in his acting at times and Elizabeth Banks definitely was. But still good! Some unbelievable feats happened and the end result was a bit unrealistic.
Well done, if derivative "innocent man" plot about a cop set up by other cops to take the fall for stealing a real estate mogel's diamond. One must really suspend disbelief with this one, but a superior cast and lively script manage to save the day. Definitely not a waste of time.
I watched the full movie here ----------> http://tiny.cc/movie784 (that link is for those who haven't watched it yet) Anyway, what can I say? this movie definitely made me love the characters and I can relate!! Just some minor plots that are ridicuous I didnt like.. anyway, 5/5 stars for this movie!!
At first the movie was a bit confusing as it flicked between past to present but then it stayed in the present time and slowly it came together as to why the ex-con was out on the ledge. I don't want to give the movie away but it was a good movie, a bit of mystery and tense moments and a good ending.
