An NYPD hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) attempts to talk cop-turned-fugitive Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) down from a high ledge, but she learns that he may have a hidden motive for threatening to take his own life. A great movie about a man who escapes from prison to prove his innocent. Very good action, very entertaining and fun to watch.

These types of movies are naturally limited in depth, and Man on a Ledge is no exception. The overall plot is too far-fetched and the ending is slightly undesirable. Interesting enough to watch all the way through but the movie believes it is special in its genre; it is not.

The more I think about the movie, the worse it gets. The premise of how the cop-turned-fugitive intends to vindicate himself is completely flawed that if it had worked without a hitch, it would once again be his word against his accuser once again. However, through a contrived series of events, it comes down to a fist fight where the protagonist comes out on top and roles are suddenly and magically reversed, and all crimes that were committed up to that point were forgiven. if you can manage to check your brain at the door, you'll probably enjoy it. The actors all did their best with a script filled with inconsistencies.

    At first the movie was a bit confusing as it flicked between past to present but then it stayed in the present time and slowly it came together as to why the ex-con was out on the ledge. I don't want to give the movie away but it was a good movie, a bit of mystery and tense moments and a good ending.
