The characters include architect John (Alec Baldwin), a young man (Jesse Eisenberg) in love with his girlfriend's best friend, an opera director (Woody Allen) who finds an undiscovered talent in an unexpected place, and Leopoldo (Roberto Benigni), who inadvertently becomes one of the most famous people in Rome. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

I saw this movie today by myself. I thought it was quite funny and entertaining, and gave a nice view of the city of Rome. However all the characers, in committed relationships, had affairs, which isnt really funny in real life, to me.

Not one of Woody Allen's better movies, but still fun to watch.

I love Woody Allen films but this is very disappointing. With the exception of Alec Baldwin, I did not like one character in this film. I like the shots of the scenery around Rome. What a disappointment after Midnight in Paris which is very good.

This was one of Allen's more enjoyable films. But I admit I love Italy, so I give a huge plus for having Rome in summer as the backdrop to many scenes. Yeah, a few things are too nonsensical to take as valid good writing, but there is a lot more that is fun, beautiful, and entertaining.

Maybe I don't get Woody Allen movies. This movie was scattered over four different ideas and none made sense or got resolved really by the end and had nothing to do with each other. I thought Midnight in Paris was pointless but this movie beats it hands down. Almost 2 hours of wasted time.

A bit too random for me, and I didn't like having to read everthing in subtitles.

It had some funny moments and some really boring moments like all the scenes of Ellen Page and the dude who played the Facebook founder. The dudu who played the police was hot!

After reading the reviews I would not go and see this movie and I wouldn't buy it. I hate subtitles for one thing, and I am not so great on allot of cheating and fornication either. I don't find it funny nor entertaining. Thank you for the reviews as they really do help.

I am from Ny my parents both from Italy. I have been to Rome. With so many great stars from the America, I had no idea that this movie was not in full English. There were more subtitles than there was spoken words in English. I understood it but my wife did not. Very un happy about not knowing this prior to renting it.

Not great Woody Allen. It is neither profound, moving nor funny enough for that title, but it is quite enjoyable. The film is made up of four intercut short stories, that share little other than the fact they happen to be set in Rome. Some have fantasy elelents, some are more absurdist, others more real. But somehow, though they really do not make much of a logical grouping, the whole thing is lighthearted and fun enough that it seems grumpy to pick on it. Sure some jokes fall flat, some ideas seem unfulfilled, but a lot of it is wonderfully acted, and at a time when so many comedies are aimed only at 15 year olds, even 2nd tier Woody simply having fun telling comic tales is a welcome sight.
