This was probably a bad movie to anyone that isn't a BTVS fan, but I absolutely love it! I wouldn't say its a "must see" unless you're a die-hard fan.

Something happened between the premiere of the *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* movie and the launch of the identically titled TV show: the 90s. Released in 1992, in those late-80s-hangover years before grunge was popular and relatively "cool" folks still wore Cosby sweaters, the Joss-Whedon-penned satire was a lovingly campy send-up of both teen comedy and horror movies (in what may be termed a "high school horror"), though most of the campiness can be attributed to director Kuzui. That said, it bears little resemblance to the Whedon brainchild TV series of 1997--a product of a post-No Doubt, post-internet, post-*Clueless* world of coffee bars and indie rock. Fans of the TV series, particularly younger fans who weren't around for the original release of the movie, will likely find this cultural time capsule unfamiliar and disappointing.

Don't waste your time with this crap. Watch the TV series instead, its got great storylines, great characters and episodes that will make you laugh and cry. Great TV series, bad movie.
