A teenage girl steps over the line into adulthood during a summer abroad in this drama from writer and director Heitor Dhalia. Mathias (Vincent Cassel) is a successful French novelist who packs up his family, including wife Clarice (Debora Bloch) and fourteen-year-old daughter Filipa (Laura Neiva), for a few months of vacation at a beachfront house in Brazil. While their surroundings are idyllic, not everyone is happy, and Filipa is aware of the obvious tension between her bickering parents. The contentious relationship between Mathias and Clarice explodes when she learns that he's been unfaithful with the younger and sexier Angela (Camilla Belle). Filipa, who is all too aware of her growing attraction to the opposite sex, is at once disturbed and excited when she spies Mathias and Angela making love, and she decides to act on her desires for a handsome neighbor in his early twenties. coming of age movie of a 14 yr old girl who is beautiful to look at on screen but the storyline is rather weak.Is subtitled, which doesnt take anything away, but there was never much substance in there to begin with. Cant recommend this film as a must watch. Beautiful beach scenery in brazil, beautiful brazilian teenager on the beach but other than that , this movie is a dud.If you saw this in a theater you would want your money back.

I liked this movie,Vincent Cassel is one of my favorite French actors I'll watch just about anything he's in.Was I crazy about it NO. I didn't pull the plug on it or fall asleep. If this is your only movie sit back relax who knows you might like it as i did.

If you like foreign you'll like this one is just great. This takes place in Brazil coast and is center around middle class family. The lead role is play by a beautiful young girl who is troubled by her parent dysfunctional relationship and she must grow up every fast to try to understand what happening to her family. This film is beautiful dysfunction at best. All the film shot done excellent and the actor are very good. If you under stand Spanish you will be able to pick up the mood and if you understand Portuguese you love this film.

Could not watch the whole movie. It was slow, kept fast forwarding to get to the end. Pretty girl in a small bikini that's about it. Good movie to put you asleep.
