A psychotic woman and her adult sons torment the new occupants of their former house in director Darren Lynn Bousman's remake of the demented Troma classic. In the wake of a botched bank robbery, three brothers race back home and learn that their mother (Rebecca De Mornay) has received a foreclosure notice. Flash-forward a couple of months, and the new owners of the home are throwing a housewarming party with a few close friends. In an instant, the brothers have taken the party guests hostage. But the real horror begins when their mother arrives. Sadistic, ferocious, and fiercely protective of her malevolent sons, she turns a happy celebration into a depraved nightmare of torture and death. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Kudos to Director: Darren Lynn Bousman psychological thriller, the best I've seen in many decades - the cast, the story line exquisite & Rebecca
De Mornay is Oscar worthy as Mother.
Please let there be a sequel someday soon - not for the timid,
a 5+ Stars.
If you want to see a movie where the victims are so stupid that you hope they get killed after so many chance of getting away. And the cell phone with no signal has been played to death, enough already. Can get reception on the moon nowadays. Too stupid, I couldn't watch it.
I didn't see the original and I wasn't really sure about renting this one. I'M GLAD I DID! This movie is exciting and intense! This has some really horrific scenes and the blood and gore looked top shelf. Rebecca D. is truly masterful as the evil mom. Like suspense, excitement, intense blood and gore? Then see this movie!
