13 Tzameti (2005) writer/director Géla Babluani gives his critically lauded thriller an English-language makeover in this remake featuring Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham. Handyman Vince Ferro (Sam Riley) is in a serious financial bind, and he decides to steal a mysterious envelope containing a lucrative job offer. Posing as the client he stole it from, Vince quickly finds himself participating in a bizarre game of Russian roulette in which degenerate gamblers wager on life and death. The rules are simple: Each participant loads a single bullet into a revolver, spins the chamber, and points it at another man's head. When the light bulb in the center of the room turns on, each contestant pulls the trigger. The players who survive live to play another round as the stakes get progressively higher. Should anyone attempt to escape, they're shot on sight. With a little luck, perhaps Vince can live through the game and collect a big-enough payout to solve all of his problems. Ray Winstone, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Michael Shannon, and Alexander Skarsgard co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

One of the few movies I've ever seen that survived its dreadful cinematography. Good cast. Good story. Minimalist screenplay.

This movie was okay but I won't be buying it.

Why anybody would watch this piece of trash is beyond me. Uncreative plot, mediocre acting---truly nothing to redeem it. What a waste of time.

If you like crazy movies you'll love this, way better than I thought it would be.

The cast drew me to this flick. I knew it'd be a "macho" blood fest with absolutely NO redeeming qualities, but I like Statham and Mickey Rourke, so I watched it. BIG MISTAKE!!! Statham is starting to be the king of "straight to DVD" movies. I've seen several of his flicks that were just cinematic garbage and this is one of them ! Mickey Rourke plays, what's becoming for him" a recurring" role of the tough, street guy...this time an ex con...with his sloppy demeanor and "bad boy" persona. This is just silly, terribly edited, bad movie making. Do yourself a favor and MISS this BOMB!!

Rent the original-13 tzameti. This re-make ruins it. The haunting original story telling and suspense building is destroyed by glitzie Hollywood formula movie that adds extra parts for high end actors and bad rap stars that give it a comic feel with out any of the posisitive attributes of a commic. The people that green lighted it should put a gun to their head-sorry I hope I didn't give anything away.

Maybe the original version has more punch than this, but I'll never find out. This was a largely no-pace movie, about Russian roulette, that drags on waaaaay toooo loooong. Jason Statham, Ray Winstone, and Mickey Rourke were wasted in this movie, as was Emanuelle Chriqui, whose character I didn't even remember by the time the ending credits rolled. Real downer of an ending too. You may be lured in - as I was - by the "star" power, but each of those stars (including Curtis Jackson and the decrepit Ben Gazzara) has other movies in their resume that would be much more worth the while. Seen them all? Skip this one still.

It was a very different type movie which made it interesting but still only so-so overall.

Not a very good movie. I expected so much more considering the amount of good actors in it.

If you recall the movie the dear hunter and were able to watch them playing Russian Roulette well this movie has the same sort of plot only with much more games being played at one time. Not a movie for the weak.
