13 Tzameti (2005) writer/director Géla Babluani gives his critically lauded thriller an English-language makeover in this remake featuring Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham. Handyman Vince Ferro (Sam Riley) is in a serious financial bind, and he decides to steal a mysterious envelope containing a lucrative job offer. Posing as the client he stole it from, Vince quickly finds himself participating in a bizarre game of Russian roulette in which degenerate gamblers wager on life and death. The rules are simple: Each participant loads a single bullet into a revolver, spins the chamber, and points it at another man's head. When the light bulb in the center of the room turns on, each contestant pulls the trigger. The players who survive live to play another round as the stakes get progressively higher. Should anyone attempt to escape, they're shot on sight. With a little luck, perhaps Vince can live through the game and collect a big-enough payout to solve all of his problems. I really liked the original, however this movie lacked the tension of the original. Some bad casting, also a really bad score. Surprising that a director would go back and ruin his own movie, with a Hollywood version.

I have never watched a movie with Jason Statham in it, that started so slow! The plot grew & got better, but ended where it began. They most likely put '50 Cent' on the cover to attract audiences, his role was about 5 mins. Overall I thought it was worth a watch, but I didn't like it. "Da Hood Critic"

We really liked this movie, hard to say loved considering the gruesome nature of it...but it kept our attention all the way through. With Rourke and Statham we expected a bunch of pole dancers and strip club scenes, but they kept it completely clean and just about the action and we respected that and liked it all the more for it. Good acting, nail biting action.

Movie was slow for 45 minutes, then the flashbacks of the participants made it worse, bad ending. Not your typical Jason Statham movie.

Kudos to Gela Babluani for effort, somehow the movie lacked umph and good writing /script. The characters had no depth, the best part was getting rid of them in the game of Russian Roulette.

"13" had to be one of the worst movies that I've seen. I could not understand why Jason Statham would even consider being in this movie. He was the reason why I rented this movie. Both my husband and I were sorely disappointed. Don't waste your time!

    If you recall the movie the dear hunter and were able to watch them playing Russian Roulette well this movie has the same sort of plot only with much more games being played at one time. Not a movie for the weak.
