13 Tzameti (2005) writer/director Géla Babluani gives his critically lauded thriller an English-language makeover in this remake featuring Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham. Handyman Vince Ferro (Sam Riley) is in a serious financial bind, and he decides to steal a mysterious envelope containing a lucrative job offer. Posing as the client he stole it from, Vince quickly finds himself participating in a bizarre game of Russian roulette in which degenerate gamblers wager on life and death. The rules are simple: Each participant loads a single bullet into a revolver, spins the chamber, and points it at another man's head. When the light bulb in the center of the room turns on, each contestant pulls the trigger. The players who survive live to play another round as the stakes get progressively higher. Should anyone attempt to escape, they're shot on sight. With a little luck, perhaps Vince can live through the game and collect a big-enough payout to solve all of his problems. What a terrible movie, Rourke and Statham's roles are barely cameos. It drags out a 20 minute premise far too long with predictable and depressing results.

I picked it up because it was listed as action before I realized it was a remake of a movie someone recommended but I skipped because it was black and white and subtitled several years ago. Well it was more suspense than action but well done. Dark of course and it could have been tightened up but worth seeing Very much an ensemble piece.

TERRIBLE! Satham, Rourke and 50 HAVE NO BUSINESS IN THIS MOVIE! You guys hurting for work in this economy? This is truly a cable channel movie (Starz original). Had a free rental so I picked this up. Waste of time. Who's Sam Riley? Geez - terrible!

Why would any selfrespecting actor be in this film? It was grusome and just made no sense. Stay away! Grusome piece of trash and I wish I could have that 90 minutes of my life back that is how bad it was.

I like the original version way better then this one (13 Tzameti). I figure with the newer version with big name stars that this was going to be the best. Did not like it at all. Rent the original and you will see what I mean. The original is in sub titles.

This movie was absolutely appalling. Anyone that would like it on any level would have to be as sick and twisted as those men portrayed as betting on the certain death of several men. It's this sort of so called entertainment that contributes to and measures the depravity of our world today.

    If you recall the movie the dear hunter and were able to watch them playing Russian Roulette well this movie has the same sort of plot only with much more games being played at one time. Not a movie for the weak.
