He must have really needed the money as this film is very, very bad. Of the 82 minutes (at least it was short) about 70 minutes were spent running up and down the same tunnels making one stupid comment after the other. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!! Read More I was very let down by his film, as even the writeup mentions Val Kilmer potentially being the Devil. Well, he only appears for 5-6 minutes, he reads a few lines, and then you don't hear from him again. This had so much potential, and yet the producers let what appeared to be a great story languish. If you think you're going to see a Val Kilmer film, be forewarned. He does barely more than a cameo appearance in this steaming mess of a film. Seriously, he's in it for about two minutes. Good luck trying to understand the story since what we see mostly is actors running around in dark tunnels with an occasional shadow darting in front of the camera and a creepy kid walking around. Darkness prevails in this continuous search in the catacombs (in Moscow?) where the undead live and like the other member said Val K appears for a little bit. the Russian characters speak Russians to the Americans and the Americans
respond back in English. You also have to read very quickly on the English subtitles.
We picked up the movie, because Val Kilmer is a good actor and you would think
that he is the main character, but you only see him for about 5 minutes in the entire movie. Every scene is almost identicle to the next. What a total disappointment and

If you expect to see a lot of him in this movie, you'll be disappointed. They must've just paid him for a days work and use of his name and he puts nothing into his small part, basically just walks through his lines. I thought the weak link was Kilmer if only because he looked kinda fat for living down there. But he was a minor player. Otherwise, I thought it was tense and scary, finally a different ghost story. Good soundtrack and atmospheric. Yeah it was dark, it's tunnels! I was disappointed in Pitch Black because it was too bright.
