Read MoreAnd the winner of the worse movie of 2008 goes to ... Finding Amanda is a strong contender for that prize. Many reviewers seemed to like this one. Maybe it is just me. I did not find any of the characters very interesting and certainly did not care what happened to them. It was billed as a comedy. The story of a washed up alcoholic, drug using gambler going to Vegas to convince his 20 year old hooker niece to enter rehab could have been funny. Instead you get a short picture about alcoholics, drug uses, pimps, the sex trade, gambling addiction and abusive boy friends and a very stupid girl. Some films can pull off solving the problems of the world and still be funny. This one misses by a mile. What a mess. Nothing was funny and nothing was sweet or feel good. Maura Tierney only has a couple of scenes and is certainly not the reason to rent this disc. This movie is R rated and children who are fans of Brittany Snow should be kept away from this one. The ending of the movie was pretty serious, almost didn't seem to fit the movie's theme very well, but the ending was a turn in a different direction than you'd imagine.
