I'm a straight woman and LOVED this show!!! It's dramatic, just like 'straight' dramas are. I was so sorry to see it end and agree with other reviews that it could've gone on for at least one more season....great actresses. They really got the feeling of real friendships down. The ending was just as bad as the sapranos, shame for that;(

Great Show, so sad that ended and I wish it really ended with some kind of conclusion. As it is they have totally left it open for a whole new drama and even spin off in NYC vs LA deal. LOVED IT

I was one of the few I know that watched the first episode as it aired. I was hooked immediately. Ironically enough when this first aired I was still "in the closet" and I would be lying if I said this show didn't have some small part in my coming out. This show made lesbians real women. It made the idea of being open about yourself not so scary. It was groundbreaking and in your face. I loved everything about the series. If you haven't seen this yet you must!

About five years ago, I rented the 1st season. Wow! Groundbreaking. Now, five years later, I have just seen the 1st disk of the last season. There is a whole lot less "Wow!" and a whole lot more blind groping. For instance, Jenny is over-the-top nuts. Yes, it may be time for the curtain to fall on the L Word. <break> Just finished Disk 2: A definite improvement. I am actually looking forward to disk 3. No time to elaborate.

The Lword was an excellent series with charachters that were easy to get attached to. Its easy to find a little bit of ones self or a friends traits when looking at the charachters. We rented the videos and for weeks we gazed at the t.v. and couldn't wait to get together to see what happened next. Some of us gay, some straight...the series had something for everyone to enjoy..we are sad to see them go! exspecialy shane. lol
