I did not realize it was a sequel to the original War Games story until about halfway through. The continuity from the original was a nice (and surprising) touch.
This movie is entertaining. It's not as good as the original, but it's a pretty good effort for a direct to DVD release. My main criticism is the ending. It ends in a very similar way to the original movie. Come to think of it, the whole plot and characters are somewhat similar to the original. I guess that's why I thought it WAS a remake until halfway through. So maybe it should be considered a "remake." Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More WOPR is loose again and fighting on the side of humanity to defeat the evil A.I. that is trying to nuke the planet. Where do these producers come up with these loser movies. Someone must need a major tax write off. This was a waste of DVD plastic. The producer, director (must be desperate for work), and the screenwriter should be a good argument for public flogging. There should be a category for negative ratings since clicking on the star gives it some illusion of validity. Burn your DVD player before wasting time viewing this. I was on the verge of giving up on this movie until Joshua showed up. That was enough to hook me and get me through the rest of the movie. Not sure why the guy that played Steven Faulken didn't reprise his role, he is still alive according to IMDB. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The movie does not come off as cheap in any way, so I was impressed. The suspense is very similar to the first movie (I was quite young then, so I remember having to watch it several times before catching on), and this movie is the same way. I like the little twist in the end by bringing out bits and pieces of the first movie. I dont wanna give anything away, but highly recommend this family movie. Its reminded of the movie Die Hard / Live Free, but without the big bang budget, and with a story of its own. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Hello, is she still in her hooded yellow suit? Not even in or at the end of the credits. Hey guys, how about a redo. Also, the credits ran a bit short. The best thing in the movie was the kid's red leather jacket- on mom's budget, I don't think so. It must have cost @$3000.. What I want to know, is whose design is it & how much did it cost. The zippers, distressed look, and the faded blue collar-amazing. Anyone knowing anything about this jacket or a blog that identifies it, please post this information. The other hole in the plot was that the only way they could have targeted that kid to play Ripley was if his friend was paid to do it. It was his friend's idea to play; to find a way to fund it, to choose the city to play with. The old man said it was a conspiracy, but no way. p.s. readers, when comparing, use the word "than" rather than "then". See? A perfect example. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
