Read More This movie, which is China's take on "Hamlet" was awesome. If you have read & understood Shakespeare's play "Hamlet" and enjoyed the plot of the story you may enjoy this movie as much as I did. If you haven't tried reading "Hamlet" (with sparknotes at the very least) you won't understand what is happening. If you want to watch LOTBS read the play first. Once you have you will appreciate this movie because it has extravagant visuals, all of the major characters and much of the plot with a few twists. Some things were "lost in translation", so it gets a little confusing at times. Beautiful sets, wonderful time period, has a similar feel to "Curse of the Yellow Flower". I would watch it again. Ruler dies, brother marries wife, Son comes back for revenge, and everybody dies. Beautiful setttings, and excellent imagery. While it is subtitled it is still a movie that keeps your interest.
