I don't mind watching martial arts movies at all, but this one's acting was so dumb. They could have done much more with plot of border patrol and illegal aliens and it really had nothing to do with either. The presumption that the Captain and New Orleans homicide detective would hook up was lame at best. Nothing matched or was cohesive. There were some exciting fight scenes though.

The Shepherd is an insult to the United States Border Patrol and the men and women who work for that organization. New guy just happens to transfer from New Orleans Homicide to the border patrol of a small town in New Mexico. Of course his boss is a female who is tough as nails but gets drunk with him at the local bar after only a couple of days. He has a partner with a huge expensive home. Ex-military are now in charge of the drug running using illegals. They drive an armored bus across the border filled with drugs and guns and priests and nuns. Van Dam, of course, has nightmares about something that happened in his past. Naturally he is able to gun down every bad guy with single shots until he gets to the last two bad guys. That takes the usually long fight scenes. The border patrol is made to look bad and incompetent. The Mexicans are stereotyped. Looks like they rehired the old fat Sargent from the Zorro show. Terrible movie. At least the the rabbit, named Jack, lives.

This was an interesting plot, but the filming was way to dark. They could have invested in some lights.....

I expected this to be bad, but I rented it hoping to see a good fight scene between Van Damme and Scott Adkins, an up and coming talent. Rent Undisputed II and see him square up with Michael Jai White (a.k.a. Spawn). Don't waste your time on this one. It didn't make sense, and the fights weren't worth the pain of sitting through the film.

I haven't seen a Jean-Claude Van Damne movie in a long time. It was a pretty good action movie.

This is a Van Damme action movie - good guys, bad guys and a lot of martial arts fighting. Have some new martial arts actors that really have some moves. I am tired of the U.S. Special Forces always being the deranged bad guys. All in all - it was a fairly good action movie that most guys would enjoy.
