As the United States faces unprecedented financial crises, filmmaker Patrick Creadon explores just how America got to be in the economic mess that it finds itself in, eventually detailing just what the nation would have to do in order to prevent a bad situation from turning into an all-out financial disaster from which no citizen could escape. ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi
Disturbing! There seems to be no end in sight in our run-up of national debt. It's been going on for a long time now, and it's become like a run-away train. The certain danger is, our dollar will collapse. Before, we Americans used to bail out our own debt. But now with inflation, no incentive to save, and our debt outpacing our revenue, we borrow from foreigners. They've got leverage and can control our foreign policy by calling in our debt. Lookout, here it comes: the New World Order!
This is scary stuff. It should be a wake up call.......but will it be.........This should be shown in all schools. Our government has played with our wealth from the very beginning and now WE are paying for it. All citizens need to get informed- see this film.
A chilling indictment of the legislative and executive branches of government. A must see for anyone who loves this country, the U.S.A. I pity the children and grandchildren walking around today from Maine to Hawaii and from Florida to Alaska!
Everyone should see this disturbing and enlightening presentation of our country's financial situation. It begs the question: Why don't our politicians take the necessary steps to begin turning the crisis around. The obvious answer is that it wouldn't be a popular course to take.
A very insightful, jarring documentary about the financial state of our nation with strong warnings about where we are headed in the long run. An eye-opener if you are completely unaware of the problem and provides valuable information even if you are. Fair and non-partisan for the most part, although it does clearly seem to favor the Clinton administration for its balancing of the budget and takes a less favorable attitude towards Reagan and Bush for the opposite reason. It's a PBS documentary; what do you expect. Could go deeper into problems underlaying the core of our financial system, including the federal reserve and the problems associated with fiat currency. A good very good starter for those who are not political or economic experts, however, one which hopefully will encourage people to dig deeper and support politicians who offer real solutions to our problems.
Good movie about how bad off the American economy is. This was a few years back and now it is worst. Need more solutions because by this movie there's no hope.
Everyone should see this video. Only with real facts can we understand what happened and what our government needs to do to get us back on track after the BUSH administration destroyed our financial stability. Stop watching FOX News and get the true facts here.
