David Wall apparently acted and directed this movie and apparently was the only one with any real acting ability in the whole movie. The dialouge is flat and delivered in such a montone manner I got the idea I was watching real people with no acting experience reading their lines from some giant hidden queue card somewhere. The scenary is pretty but the story is also pretty flat. The idea was pretty good...if only the movie had a little more "oomphf ". The idea of two priests ...one struggling with his faith and another "good" priest who lives his faith could have been interesting...but the rest of the characters where just so boring it was like who cared. Additionally, the actor who played the "good" priest was also a very bad actor. Cute...but no acting ability.

Some might say that this film is slow moving. Well, there is a difference between a gentle pace and plodding. This film is gently paced for the most part, drawing the patient viewer into a tale laced with humor, hope, and a message. Admittedly, some of the acting is stilted, some of the scenario a bit far-fetched, but all-in-all it is a film which will catch the viewer's heart. On top of that, the film is often beautiful to look at. Well worth watching.

For a Holiday Movie, it's a bit too somber and really doesn't mention Christ or the religious aspect of Christmas. Instead, it delves into several other issues, like if Christmas Eve services are required to be at a church or can it be elsewhere, like someone's personal house? Another issue, which I think was off kilter a bit, was what a priest considers part of Catholicism, part of requirements, part of heart, public places he deems ok to be in, what lines he can cross over, etc. I'm not sure a true Priest would volunteer to marry someone, or bypass services to attend a party.... All in all, it was a different kind of movie, not badly acted, and the scenery was nice. The plot was far too complicated (in religious issues) and somber to make this movie one suitable for children or young teens.

The movie was good, the acting okay and loved the ending. The song sung at the closing was very uplifting and brought tears to my eyes.

This film was made by a Protestant movie company that knows nothing about true Catholic faith. If you want to watch a great movie, somewhat along the same story line, then rent, "The Cardinal". It was made back in the 50's and although long, it delivers much more action than this dud! From a Catholic, I can only say that this was an awful depiction of a priest who is struggling with his faith. Pass on this movie, even though the cover is enticing.
