The issues in this film are very real and believable. David Wall strongly resembles a young Robert Redford. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This was not only poorly acted and poorly scripted, it was a bizarre display of nothingness. Even in it's moment of supposed redemption, there was nothing redeeming. The only thing I found enchanting was the fact that the main actor could have passed for Robert Redford 30 years ago. Sorry for the negativity but this was one of the worst movies I've ever finished watching. I had to watch another "Christmas movie" just to get this one out of my mind. 10 out of 14 people found this review helpful I liked the movie because it was real...lots of real issues for all of us who love the Lord and enjoy church. It is mainly about adult issues, but it could be a family movie however, I don't think kids would be able to relate to it because they haven't lived that long. It is about making wrong career choices and wrong love choices, we all have done that. Can't say more without ruining the movie. Takes place around Christmas...hope you can watch it.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Father Jonathan Keene has a miserable job in the Catholic Church: reviewing and closing down parishes that are dwindling or near dead. He became a priest for the wrong reason: out of a sense of guilt and obligation, thinking he could "pay" for something. He wouldn't allow himself to get what he really wanted, because he did not feel worthy. What he gets in this simple movie, obviously on a low budget, is the realization that you cannot pay for your own salvation, and you should go after what your heart wants and needs. When he accepts that, he gets the best Christmas gift anyone could get: himself, and someone else, too. The music is simple, the scenery is simple but beautiful, feels like a New England Coastal town. Though a low budget film, the story is touching and uplifting. Anyone struggling with past regrets or guilt will feel redeemed after watching this. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More The movie "Noelle" arrived cracked and we were not able to watch it. We did return it to a local branch of Blockbuster, but they told us to make sure we contacted corporate. Since the DVD is not listed as received, there is no prompt to report the damage, so this avenue is the next best thing. Please advise.
Thanks

Read More I'm still trying to decide if the movie delivered the promise of the front cover. Mysticism is hinted at, and that's what I looked forward to but still not sure if it delivered. I read many glowing reviews of this title on the Amazon website, somewhat different than several on this site which were quite negative. I love Christmas and movies help set the mood for the season. The tone here was somewhat somber in places but I'm glad I saw it. It never occurred to me it was an independent. I'm glad I was able to see it before buying because now I can wait until it comes out as previously viewed, around $5 at the local video store or new onsale for much less than the current listed new price. My two favorite new Christmas movies this year are The Man Who Saved Christmas and The Christmas Card. Noelle digs deeper into those darker places of our psyche. So tired of getting worse and worse films to see. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
