Read More A very evocative series of the late 50s/early 60s-the ad men sign up for Nixon campaign '60. Beyond the differences of behaviors - wild smoking everywhere, drinking at will and guys treating 'girls' as sport - the complex characters, competition and home life conflicts remind us that human beings have not changed that much (internally). Everyone always talks about how many times the Sapranos say the "F" word...I'd like to know how many cigarettes they lit up throughout this season of Mad Men. It ends with a nice twist. Read More Due to many people's high recommendation, I really tried to like this TV show. Some episodes were much more interesting than others, so as soon as I was about to declare the show "boring," a good episode would pull me back into the plot lines. I was pulled back into it for a final time after watching the season finale. I was on the fence as to whether or not I was going to rent season two when it comes out, and so I decided that I would. All the choices for the roles are picked to perfection. The impeccable attention to detail that is paid to the blocking (film shot), set design and costumes are unsurpassed. This really has it all. The subtle deliveries that are required by these actors to suit the time period of the piece makes the series sing. Absolutely dead on in every aspect. Bravo and congratulations. Very well done.
