This chinese father/daughter relationship movie-COULD have been a really good movie in the four to five star range, but it just had too many annoying flaws. The pacing was teeedessly slooow. The subtle messages were given out in an tortorously teedious manner. Good messages OVERALL but still too painstaking to get to and in the end not worth the trip. Thiswould be a good movie if your que has nothing else in it but otherwise it is not a MUST WATCH by any means.Three stars is more than generous.

A gentle story of how a long-separated father and daughter reunite. Yet there are many questions and secrets between them, and connecting with each other becomes very difficult. It is easier for the father to make meaningful contacts with strangers, even though their native language differs from his. A well-told tale, but there's no sparkle.
