Well not happily ... I mean happy doesn't have anything to do with this film. But both women played great roles. They were strong and credible. In the end I found it plausible. That did not happen. There were a few yuck moments because of the villians choice of weapon (scissors) but that was it. The movie was totally ridiculous and not even a little believable. A pregnant woman must elude a killer inside her home. The violence in this movie is very realistic, the body count is impressive, and the sheer quantity of blood is enormous. While most graphic films are hampered by poor acting and storytelling, this entry has solid performances and a scenario that keeps the viewer engaged from beginning to end. Survival logic is a mixed bag, which does include some illogical decision-making. The antagonist is one tough, nasty, merciless wench who is also wraithlike in her ability to lurk in the shadows. Atmosphere and score are also very strong. This is an incredibly brutal slasher that goes down as one of the best ever made. Not for the weak-hearted. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? That hasn't happened in a long time! FINALLY...My faith in the horror genre has been restored! YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE! I've been reading some of the other reviews and the movie High Tension (also French) was mentioned more than once, and it is very similar - but even darker, if you can believe that. There was way too much blood squirting out of the sides of necks (which being a nurse i can tell you that is NOT the say it looks) and at the end when the perp that had been killed by the psycho got up and turned no he breaker box? Read More This has got to be the bloodiest movie I have EVER seen and I have seen tons of horrific, gory movies. I really felt for this woman who had lost her husband and then this deranged stranger comes into her life and tries to seemingly harm her and her unborn baby and at first you don't know why. But that is where they created the tension so it worked. I was on the edge of my seat and could not leave the movie until it ended. Even though I thought the ending was unfair, overall the movie surprised me by being better than expected. I thought it would be bad, but not so. I liked how throughout a good part of the film I wasn't sure why the antagonist was causing this violent-mayhem, and the action was non-stop.
