There is tension and it is scary. Things we don't see enough of in horror films any longer. The last 20 minutes go way over the top, but it's all done in such a serious manner that it does not come off as corny. If you're a gore-hound, I promise you won't be disappointed. This is the most amount of blood I've ever seen in a "serious" horror film. I'd say the "comedic" horror counterpart would have to be Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive" as far as gallons of blood goes. This film is too good for the reputation Dimension Extreme carries along with it and even the DVD cover makes it look like another "Hostel" rip-off. Well to me, this is levels about "Hostel" or "Saw". This film will make you extremely uneasy by the end, but it holds more weight than just a blatant gross-out. I am a hardened horror movie fan and this nasty, little French film is bloody as hell. It is suspenseful as well and the lead actress you really feel for her. The perspectives from the infant, whether real or imagined are interesting. The gore is very disturbing. Rent this if you are a horror fan who thinks they have seen it all. Read More I was so tired of renting cheap horror movies, and gotta say, this was one of the best I've seen in a while. It was very disturbing, especially, at the end, when we find out why the character was doing all this horrific stuff. I watched it two days ago, and still am very disturbed by the story line. Somebody mentioned that maybe there is no point to the movie, but I have to disagree - boy, there is a big point to this movie. I am a mother, and telling the truth, I still do not know the answer to the question that my husband asked: "Can you justify the main character's behavior?" Definitely, recommend. This movie intense and scary and gory from start to finish. If you like recent films like THEM aka Ils you'll like this one too. And if you haven't seen THEM rent it immediately! Read More While I would have liked to see the unrated version (I'll just buy it eventually) the R rated movie was as violent and intense a genre flick as I have seen in a while. One on most gruesome and suspensful movies I have seen in a very long time. This one will definately have you peacking through you fingers and seating on the edge of your seat. But, be warned Blockbuster only rents out the edited version. If you want to see it in it's full bloody excellence you'll have to buy it and damn is it worth it.
