Will Smith is fantastic in it! I just sat there and got lost watching and wondering. I did pretty much figure out things part way through but that doesn't matter it's all on how it unfolds and to see the effects and to feel the emotions... get your tissues ready. Men have cried! Oprah was all glowing talking about it but I didn't catch the plot. I thought it would be one of those 'keep trying til you reach your goal' but oh no. The plot is about a man on mission to find people who need organs donated. Will Smith's character is guilt driven and has no joy/happiness in his life. What good is giving a gift if it is motivated by guilt and not love? Who determines who is 'good' to receive an organ donation? Who sets the standard of the worth of one human life over another? Read More Worst first screen kisses ever between Will Smith and Rosario Dawson! Piano music during last 3/8 of picture had one note which was played concurrently with the note next to it, making me cringe every time I heard it, which unfortunately was repeated often. What does seven pounds mean? Seven pounds of flesh? I never did find out. Very strange movie, but gripping nevertheless. Will's appearance all wet at the hospital was weird acting, in my opinion. Although his acting was adequate, the fact that he choose to be in this movie shocks me. This movie confuses a loving self less act and virtuous gift of organ donation with justifying a desperate action of a man who has lost all hope for peace in his life. I hope that those who have had extreme losses in their lives, as the main character in this movie had, or those who find their own lives not worth living, will seek out professional help to learn how to appropiately deal with the type of depression that would lead one to think that they have no other alternative but the one taken in this movie. The course of action promoted in this movie is insulting to those who've had family members who've suffered as the main character suffered or to those who themselves have overcome their struggle with similiar maladies. In no way does this misguided attempt of tilted heroicism justify the course of action taken in this movie - EVER! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
