Vice Versa (1988)

A magical jeweled skull makes the wish of 11-year-old Charlie (Fred Savage) come true in this routine but entertaining situation comedy. Charlie wishes he can switch places with his father Marshall (Judge Reinhold), a shallow junior executive of a toy-manufacturing company. Marshall retains his adult form but has the mind of an 11 year old. Charlie still looks 11 but has all the cynical wisdom and experience of his father. The switch provides for many amusing episodes, as father and son try to cope in each other's worlds. Marshall (as Charlie) goes to school while Charlie (as Marshall) tackles the pressures of the corporate boardroom. The performances of Reinhold and Savage are the highlights of this amusing comedy. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

The movie “Big” with Tom Hanks came out in the same year as Vice Versa and is more or less of the same theme; a grown man’s body is suddenly inhabited by a small boy. I don’t recall which movie came out first but in my book this movie outshines “Big”. Judge Reinhold is fabulous in portraying a grown man who suddenly exchanges persons with his eleven-year-old son. The character must try to convince everyone in his business and social environment that he is the same man he was yesterday. There is opportunity here for hilarious possibilities and Reihold delivers. Reinhold’s character is honest, spontaneous, naïve, and certainly very funny. Fred Savage’s roll is a bit easier, being now his own father and trying to pass as an eleven year old, but he also delivers. You will be laughing out loud.

Watching this movie with my Father as a kid, I was without a doubt getting into it. Wishing I could take my fathers place just to get away from the "no cant do this, cant do that atmospher of being a kid" Its one of Reinholds best funny movies and it's great for everybody to watch. Vice Versa gives great performances by both Reinhold, and Savage. Reinhold shows again and again in almost every role he takes on his ability to conform to the role winningly this is most evident in his role as Marshall and makes for a unforgettable movie for everybody

second best switch movie. classic. cute movie, very funny. the worste switch movie was with dudley moore and kirk cameron, that was one of the last switch films, other than SWITCH and freaky friday with jamie lee curtis. big was the best, with tom hanks. even though it was a switch of himself, instead of in another's body. very cute movie.

Like my other reviews of Fred Savage this is excellent to and I have always thought highly of Judge Reinhold to. and those 2 act perfectly together. This was very funny and made you think at the end. Wonderful, timeless movies and this is one of them.

I used to watch this movie all the time when I was a kid. Judge Reinhold is so great: he plays a very convincing kid. The storyline is great, too.
