I do not recommend this to anyone.... I rented this one after seeing all the hype on TV before it was released to the theaters. I am so glad I did not wast money seeing it in a theater. It was very hard to watch with it being shot from the viewpoint of someone walking around with a video camera. I don't think I entirely share that point of view. It was a bit like a B movie and sometimes that's okay depending on the mood. The creature was almost cute when you finally got to see it. The offspring, or maybe it was just some really dangerous form of body lice it had were like spiders crossed with Aliens. I'm glad I didn't pay the theatre price to see it though. I decided to watch it anyway, and I am glad I did. I thought it was a good movie. Yes, it is shot to look like it was being filmed by a camcorder. I did not personally get dizzy, though many people have said they did. I thought the approach here was great, and overall I was impressed with Cloverfield. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? You sit through this roller-coaster ride, glued to your sit trying to figure out what is going on and then when the movie is supposed to wrap things up...it freaking ends!!!

Read More I'm not sure what the rest of you expected from this movie but I thought it lived up to more than I had hoped for. When I saw the previews before it came out I thought it looked absolutely terrible but I went to the theater anyway, and I'm glad I did. I really liked it, and I thought that the camera technique, the annoying camera guy, and all the other characters played their role and fit nicely. On another note though, when I rented it again afterwards I don't think it was as good. Maybe it was just because I had seen it before and I knew what was going to happen, but I think it was mostly a movie that is best seen in the dark with other people on the big screen.
Not the best movie but definitely worth seeing. Just know going into it that you are watching a Sci-Fi MONSTER movie and that like all monster movies you can't expect award winning acting like these other reviewers seem to want. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More This movie, to me, was awesome! It kept me on the edge of my seat. of course the moving camera kind of throws it off at times, but is what would happen if someone was really filming an event. The funny thing is, that camera never ran out of batteries! I want one of those! Anyway, it was a great show for me, I enjoyed it tremendously. The ending was so sad. Great job.
