Read More Unfortunately, the excruciating detail about the going-away party and the romantic entanglements of the principles that are described in Blockbuster's synopsis of the movie actually reflect what the first 45 minutes of the film are like: in a word, tedious. I found myself checking my watch a lot during the first hour, wondering how long it would be until the mayhem started. Too long, in my opinion, and that first part of the movie really drags with the minutiae of self-absorbed partygoers. Once the sh*t begins to hit the fan, however, it's a different movie, and it holds interest right to the end. Preposterous as the rescue attempt might be at times, it's an exciting and scary ride. It was terrible. The amateur-movie style of "Blair Witch" worked for that movie, but not for this one. I'm still nauseous... the jerky motion was even worse than Blair Witch, with no redeeming value. The film has almost no plot, the acting is terrible, it's hard to follow, the people's actions aren't credible, and the whole concept is dumb. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

The worst of 'Blair Witch' meets the worst of 'War of the Worlds' in a nauseating mess.
If you haven't seen it, this is what to expect. A magical video camera (it's magical because the battery and tape last over 7 hours) is faithfully rolling while some loser and 3 friends run for their lives from a monstrous being that is attacking NYC.
As you might expect from a hand-held video camera, all scenes are shaky and very difficult to see. This movie is terrible. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
