This movie is entertaining with plenty of action, a little romance, and the typical good triumphs over evil theme. Chris Hemsworth makes a great Thor and Natalie Portman is great, usual.

3D definitely enhances the movie watching, and FX imo better than the Hulk all of them and Iron Man 2, and with the comic books I was biased towards Thor, and Iron Man. It may help but not necessary if you know the mythical story as this may be 1 of many episodes. I could not get enough of this 1st installment. After all the credits at the very end of the movie Loki re-appears with Samuel Jackson's character says the drama continues.I really liked this movie although there's always room for improvement. Jeff D. I picture a person in a straight Jacket,Elizabeth D.so deep you're confused ,IS Jeff D. RIGHT or WRONG,and Ryan P.can you give a honest review and not try to code or steer readers to some place else ?

I'll make it simple. This is my favorite genre. "Thor" has action, great fx, a simple yet good story, and has a broad appeal. You don't have to have read forty years of Marvel Comics or to have studied Norse mythology. This movie is fun from start to finish without forced romance or slow parts. Think "Iron Man" with more fun! So speaks the thunder god! Ha ha

LOVED THIS! There was nothing in this movie that made me think less of it. I'm glad that the excitement for it at our house was not unfounded. I would highly recommend this to everyone to see. Not just fans of superheroes. There was nothing disagreeable in the movie. I don't even remember hearing any of "the" swear words. Go See It. You'll love it too. Thor is cast out of Asgard and has to learn some life lessons. Loki, is scheming. Midgar is troubled. Odin is old. Havoc ensues.

I write this review never reading a Thor comic, so take it for what is worth. I thought it was great superhero movie and place it up there with some of the better ones. I was skeptical of Chris Hemsworth coming in but I think he did a great job and Kenneth Branagh pulled it all together. Enjoyed the 3D, which can't be said for the mass of 3D movies being put out there. Not quite on the level of the recent Batmans but definitely worth a look.

This movie was beyond amazing. I recommend this to everybody, and I can't wait for that Avengers movie to come out.

WAY better than Iron Man 2, and slightly better than X-Men FC, but not as good as some of the Marvel A-Listers like Spider Man, and Wolverine/The X-Men. And *as* good as Iron Man 1. "Thor" was an acceptable Hollywood big-budget flick, but it's just kinda hard to relate to the character and the Norse Mythology. Natalie Portman helps this movie, a lot!

It's a movie that's impressive in 3D. The role of Natalie Portman was weak and disappointing and definitely could have been written to give her role more depth.

interesting but a bit overloaded with sfx. not knowing the thor story from comic books, i was open to learning everything. sfx were good and i understood the characters but i did not feel a connect with anyone but thor. natalie portman totally miscast. wanted more from anthony hopkins. sfx were so over-the-top i do not see how they can make a sequel or pit him as a peer to any of the other super heroes. he is a god in this movie it seems.

for seeing up to my un expectations, I love this movie, because it;s funny, action packed, cool. Thor isn't the best, hero, but tom hiddleston stole the show

Surprisingly, the funniest film of the Pre-Avengers cinematic canon.
