The only complaint that I have is that it ended too abruptly. It should have had a better conclusion. Otherwise, it was entertaining, and enjoyable. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? This show has the look and feel of the times. That is fine but, in many cases, the dialog is quite cheesy. One Example: "When you leave you take a piece of my soul with you". Yuck! Nobody talks like that. There are quite a few lines as bad as this.
Could the story be good enough to overcome the dialog? Yes, it is.
The cinematography modernizes as the show moves into the 1960s. Some stories are settled in each episode while other storylines flow forward as the characters age.
By the end of the last show it was clear to me that I had been treated to a great peace of historic fiction.
I highly recommended this series. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Both my husband and myself ended up feeling like it was a waste of our time. Not recommended. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The birth of the CIA - and as it develops, the mistakes it makes in Hungary during the 1950's, and Cuba (ie, the "Bay of Pigs" fiasco) in 1961. 4-hours long in total - it has more yawning moments than action. But not bad for learning the basics on how the CIA was developed and why - - the "spy vs. spy" battles with the Soviet Union's KGB over the years - - and what joining does to men after a period of time, and what they must give up to remain in good standings in "The Company."
